Veterinary Assistant position qualifications

A Veterinary Assistant / Client Care Assistant at Colorado Equine Veterinary Services (CEVS) should possess the desire to provide outstanding service to CEVS clients and work as an integral part of the Veterinary team. A strong personal knowledge of horses, including handling and riding is a must. Must also possess the utmost professionalism and maturity to work with clients, Veterinarians, and other staff members. The ability to show gentle confidence and compassion at all times is also required. He or she must have a desire to assist the Veterinarian with any and all required tasks in the clinic, as well as in the field.

Strong organizational and communication skills are required to provide effective Client Care in the office. A helpful and courteous approach toward clients is a must. Knowledge of use of standard office machines, computers, Microsoft Office and E-mail is preferred. In addition, the ability to show initiative in getting things done without being told is required.

This position is full-time. Must be in good physical condition, willing to work in inclement weather, 40+/- hours per week, provide overnight ICU treatment on a rotational basis, and be on weekend emergency call approximately once monthly. Salary DOE.
