Is your horse sick? Does your horse have a fever? A fever is defined here as a rectal temperature ≥102ºF. If your horse has a fever, your horse may qualify for participation in a clinical trial for an investigational drug being developed for the control of fever in horses. Horses who participate in this study may receive the study drug, examinations, and diagnostic laboratory work required for the study at no charge. The cost of treatment for the cause of the fever may be covered as part of the clinical trial.
Colorado Equine Veterinary Services is currently recruiting horses for participation in a clinical trial investigating the effectiveness and field safety of an investigational drug compared to a placebo for the control of fever in horses. Your horse may qualify if they have a fever ≥ 102ºF, are at least 12 months of age, and are not pregnant or lactating.
