Bloodwork

Colorado Equine Veterinary Services has the capabilities to do immediate “in-house” Complete Blood Counts (CBC) and Serum Biochemistry Panels, thus providing timely results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of your horse. A CBC reveals red blood cell and white blood cell numbers, as well as fibrinogen. This information is helpful in diagnosing anemia, dehydration and inflammatory processes. A serum biochemistry reveals the electrolyte status and provides insight into liver and kidney functions of our patients. In addition, we are able to “send out” for a variety of fluid analysis for more critically ill cases: blood, urine, cerebral, spinal, and joint.
